Gonçalo Bonniz was born in Lisbon in 1967. He took his Drafting & Design Construction Major degree, at Central Ohio Technical College in 1989 and his M. Arch from Lusiada University of Lisbon in 1996, being a member of the Portuguese Order of Architects, since then.

From an early age he worked with a multidisciplinary team of architects and engineers, having deepened his knowledge of integrated project and design management. He then develops and coordinates several projects, in several areas, as old building rehabilitation, housing, office buildings, tourist developments, etc.

Over his professional career acquires specific knowledge in several thematic areas, on which he would highlight the Touristic Real Estate, as a result of the experiences gained on the past, on some of the biggest Portuguese ventures.

In 2015, creates gonçalobonniz arquitectos, an office focused on working closely with clients, to provide the best integrated solutions, achieved through an interactive and permanent collaboration.

His office provides permanent support from the conceptual development and drafting of the project, during construction and until completion.

  • Actions that take place during Project Coordination:

    • Control of solution costs
    • Evaluation of possible alternative solutions
    • Optimization and compatibility of solutions
    • Frequent updating and integration of solutions between different projects
  • Construction Management (coordination, supervision and technical control) is intended fundamentally to guarantee execution of the project as specified in the construction documents, in quality, within scheduling and budget.
  • Generaly, Construction Management services depending, on the nature and specificity of the development, includes:
    • Bidding process (Analysis and comparison of bid proposals; Negotiation and Contract award)
    • Quality of execution and planning control
    • Evaluation of construction costs / budget control
    • Administrative coordination
  • Also, special attention is given to construction cost accounting, namely in the following areas:
    • Price revision analysis, when applicable
    • Quantitative control of materials and works during construction
    • Cost evaluation of additional works (not in contract)
    • Project financial chronogram
  • Equally important, to advise and keep the Owner/ Developer duly informed about the unfolding of events during all construction phases.
